COURSE SYLLABUS for

- Multimedia and English Teaching -

DESCRIPTION OF COURSE

This course provides students with opportunities for exposure to natural language and authentic language use using the internet, CD-roms, songs & music, news, newspaper, picture, and movies.  Through this course, students develop basic information technology skills, learn how to teach English at the same time, and become aware that when combined with effective models of teaching and used within authentic, meaningful contexts, multimedia technology has the potential to bring about enthusiastic student's engagement, higher level thinking, and increased content knowledge.

METHODS

English is best learned in an environment where the four skills of listening, speaking, reading and writing are integrated around a common focus. As their knowledge of the subject expands through the classroom activities, students will develop their fluency in discussing the topic.  Students will learn how to develop and organize their ideas using multimedia technology.
