Career Development Program

Sogang GSIS strives to provide not only a top quality faculty and education but also guidance and career advice. Without this guidance, the multitude of careers, exchange programs, internships, and other study abroad opportunities may become overwhelming to prospective applicants. This is where the Sogang GSIS Career Development Center steps in to offer a helping hand. The CDC at Sogang GSIS offers career counseling to those searching for direction and aid to those who have already found their direction. Upon discussing students' goals, the CDC can help formulate a plan of action to achieve them. By helping to choose the right internships, exchanges, and study abroad programs, the CDC can help students build their resume and experience to the end of attaining the job of their choice. In addition to our career preparation services, the CDC is also there to give assistance during the hiring process. Students should not hesitate to take advantage of the assistance the CDC is willing to provide for academic writing (term paper topics and formats, reference search, etc), writing and revising cover-letters and resumes, and preparing for interviews. The Sogang GSIS CDC goes that extra mile to ensure our graduates success because their success is our success. The special event of GSIS, namely the Home Coming Day, which is held every semester, is a good opportunity for our students to meet our alumni. At these special dinners students get to know the alumni most of whom are successfully working at various positions in different sectors, governmental and private. Our students and alumni come together to speak among themselves, share their opinions and exchange useful information and advice about career planning. At these meetings our current students benefit from the experiences of the alumni of GSIS, which gives them clearer idea about their future plans.
