Course Description:
This course is designed for students to develop all four skills of English (listening, speaking, reading, and writing) and their awareness of cultural differences through the use of computers and the Internet communication and resources. Students will be introduced to various learning activities on both useful websites for English language learning and authentic English websites during the class and will be encouraged to work on them regularly outside of the class for their continuous and independent study and practice of English. They will also learn to do effective researches on the Internet, and to make a PowerPoint presentation file and give a successful presentation in English.

Course Objectives:
This course is to help students primarily - to improve accuracy and fluency in all four language skills in English, using computer technology as a means to this end. - to learn basic computer terminology in English and to be able to give and receive instructions in this area. - to promote learner independence. - to use the Internet and computer-mediated communication as a language learning tool which they can continue to use for their own independent study after the course. - to develop awareness of different cultures through the World Wide Web and various forms of computer-mediated communication such as email, discussion groups, chat, and social networking services. Secondarily - to develop basic computer and the Internet skills in the following areas: using email, chat and discussion groups, familiarization with codes of conduct on the Internet (netiquette), and using PowerPoint.
