As pointed out by Whitesides at Harvard University that "chemistry is evolving away from the manipulation of sets of individual molecules toward the description and manipulation of systems of molecules, i.e., living cells and materials". Along this line the methodology to assemble TBBs blocks into highly organized 3D entities will no doubt receive great attention in the near future from various respects. First, they will establish the concept of chemistry of TBBs which are necessary to expand chemistry into the area of bioscience and materials science, which will also eventually lead to the development of various other new valuable materials and devices. In particular, zeolite-based solar cells we are exploring will help provide methods to explore solar energy utilization. The chemistry we are exploring provide chemists valuable insights into natures's biomineralization and self-assemlby of large building blocks into 3D functional entities.
